Good Bye Summer and Hello School Year

This summer has been a lot of fun. I've enjoyed being a stay at home mom a lot!  I love being able to spread house work over the week instead of one day.  I love being able to relax a few hours in the morning and nap time is awesome me time.  LeAnne is at such a fun age.  She is so hungry to learn about the world around her, she soaks up everything like a sponge and their is no telling what will come out of her mouth next. :-) Just the other day she almost dropped a toy and said he almost fell on his noggin. While she is brushing her teeth I've heard her say she's brushing her choppers. As I type she is telling me her breakfast is elicious ( delicious) Daddy has been calling her a wing nut and she says no I'm LeAnne Kimberly Leonard or she'll say she's a princess.  I've loved working on our alphabet letters and doing crafts.  This week we are working on the letter J and I plan to try to keep up doing a few crafts a week. It's amazing to me that she now recognized 99% of her letters and knows many of their sounds.  Her two very favorite cartoons these days are Super Why and Word World.  Both are PBS kids show that involve letters and reading.  She has also loved cutting coupons with mama. She is also quite the little singer.  She loves singing along to her Jesus Cd's and loves the Veggie Tales Theme song.  One of my very favorite times of the day has been when John gets off work.  I love watching him be with LeAnne.  I am so thankful for their strong bond. He is an amazing daddy and loves his girls so much!!

Friday we took LeAnne to get her hair cut at Impress Salon in Walla Walla.  She did such a good job and her hair looks adorable.

I am starting to feel more like myself again.  I've been letting myself relax and I don't constantly feel overwhelmed.  I have been sleeping in a lot and even read 2 books this summer. I have enjoyed having time to enter lots of  blog giveaways and won some fun prizes this summer. Free stuff is always fun but it does further feed my obsession. The end of June and beginning of July had me busy with my Mary Kay business.  I still have not decided if this business is meant to be.  I love the products and I love helping women feel good about themselves but my business is not growing because I am not good at putting myself out there to talk with people.  I think I've made my decision but I also know I need to do as much as I can do pay off my debt and I hate closing the door on this opportunity I thought was going to be my ticket to be a stay at home mom.

Today is John's first night shift and he will be on nights for the next 5 months.  As John always says I don't have to like it but it is what it is. I say February come quickly!

Yes I am sad to say good bye to summer but I am also looking forward to an amazing school year ahead.  I love my job and have missed my student a lot.  He will be in 3rd grade this year and many challenges are ahead of us.  I look forward to helping him be the best he can be.

I am also looking forward to the second weekend in October.  Our family will be gathering to celebrate with a baby shower for one of my nieces and a birthday party for LeAnne.  I can't believe she will be 3 years old.

One of my biggest goals this year is to find a comfortable life balance. Now it's time to get our house clean, take stuff to grandma's for LeAnne and do some baking so John has stuff to eat for breakfast.

Thank-you for enjoying the journey with our family.

Have a wonderful new school year. Sometimes being away from our kids makes us appreciate the time we spend with the even more.

Balance is so important. I am glad that you found it.
