Happy Halloween - We love our Dinosaur!

LeAnne asked us about trick or treating a week ago and has been excited ever since.  Up until Yesterday the costume choices were between Lady Bug and Cinderella, then I asked her what she was going to be and she said Dinosaur. Huh?  She was armament she wanted to be a dinosaur because it had a tail. So today I found her an adorable dinosaur costume at K-mart.  The best parts were it  was 50% off and a cozy costume!  She  was so in love with her costume.  Just as it was starting to get dark we headed out trick or treating with a few of her friends.  Charlie Brown, the beautiful butterfly and our little dino looked adorable going down the road.  She quickly got the hang of saying trick or treat, thank-you and Happy Halloween.  Oh how we love our dinosaur!!

LeAnnisms & Random thoughts from Mama Bear

Greeting from Mama bear. :-)  Life seems to fly by so quickly and I don't don't to forget these precious memories so I write them down here at Life with the Leonard's.

It seems like yesterday I met my awesome husband in the living room of my childhood home and now in May we will be celebrating 10 years of marriage.  When my mom told me I had to meet this guy, one of her Eagle Hardware contractors, I was like I am not interested but I amused her and was home the night he stopped by.  From the moment I met him I was interested and wanted to get to know him more.  As I type my heart is still fluttering and a big smile lights up my face.

I also remember like it was yesterday that early morning pregnancy test that said "pregnant"! I was overjoyed and in shock at the same time.  Now our little miracle is one very busy three year old!  Being a parent is definitely a challenging job but it's also filled with a lot of joy!

One day earlier this week when LeAnne was home with daddy she kept calling him Daddy, John.  When I got home he was telling me about it and she said "yeah Daddy....John". It was too cute!

LeAnne is doing an amazing job of going potty on the toilet, so I got to thinking the next step toward being ready for preschool is to be able to use a normal size toilet.  This morning while she was going potty I said "Next week we should start using the big potty", to which she said "No that is mama's potty", so I said well "LeAnne can use it too", she said "no I have my potty".  LOL! She has a point.

Our class at school read a story about Helen Keller which sparked my interest so I rented the movie "Miracle Worker" and we watched it as a family on October 9th.  LeAnne thought it was really cool how Annie Sullivan was signing into Helen's hand and she started saying the words, giving me her hand to have me sign them to her too. This blew me away.  So this morning she walked up me saying "cake" and giving me her hand. It took me a second but that was one of the first words Annie taught Helen. So I signed cake into LeAnne's hand and she was happy. Oh my word this girl has quite the mind, and a memory!  :-)

That's all for now. Hopefully I'll some pictures to post this week. :-)

Pumpkin patch fun with our pumpkin/Meet Jack-O-Lantern

LeAnne was so excited to go pick out a pumpkin today that the first thing she said this morning was ""Pumpkins ready, go get a BIG pumpkin today"! Then she said she wanted her pumpkin to have eyes, nose, smile and a back. The look on her face as we rounded the corner at Klickers pumpkin patch was priceless.  She couldn't believe all the pumpkins!  I let her pick out two pumpkins then her and daddy found a great BIG pumpkin to carve.  Then she saw the super tall tower of straw with the slide and started climbing.  She LOVED the slide.  Then it was off to play on the boat, some photo moments and the dreaded time to leave the pumpkin patch came way too soon for our little pumpkin.

After nap time LeAnne & daddy cleaned out the big pumpkin and then daddy carved a very nice Jack-O-Lantern.  LeAnne has a blast!

Happy Birthday Princess

I can't believe our little girl turned 3 yesterday!  Oh how our lives have changed these last 3 years.  LeAnne, you are so loved!  Each passing stage of you growing up brings challenges and great joy!  I am so thankful to say you are well on your way to being potty trained!  You are using your imagination more and more every day.  You have a love of numbers and letters and a hunger to learn all you can which is so much fun!  You know your ABC's, recognize all your letters, know most of their sounds, can count to 12, know your shapes & colors.  Sleeping through the night is still a challenge and we hope you sleep through the night consistently soon.  Daddy has been getting on mama for getting you out of your bed.   You absolutely love watching Word world, Super Why, Elmo, Sid the Science Kid and Veggie Tales!!  You come up with some of the funniest things to say, like at your birthday as guests entered you said "Hi Friends, Happy birthday to LeAnne".  You are very polite in your defiance saying "no thanks" when we tell you its time for bed, or to pick up your toys, or you need to brush your hair. Silly girl!  Oh how you have a strong will, temper tantrums can lead to lots of time in your room and I pray you live your life with as much passion as you put into your temper tantrums!

Your birthday party was so much fun! You chose a princess theme this year and even dressed up as Cinderella. (thank-you auntie).  On 10/10/10 our house was filled with family and friends there to celebrate your birthday! You are one loved little girl!  Oh my our house is now filled with everything Disney princess - tent, dolls, a blanket, clothes, back packs, snow boots, books, a pillow, a ball, coloring pages, pretty panties with princesses, a bike, knee/elbow pads and a helmet too!!  Thank-you so much to everyone who made your birthday so special!!

You & daddy had a blast playing with all your toys and riding your bike yesterday.  You love your T-ball set and alphabet letters too!  :-)  Last night after eating your fave pizza dinner we sung Happy Birthday once more and let you blow out candles and eat cake again.

A Wednesday with a few words - Memories & Milestones

LeAnne with her Auntie Katie this past weekend!  Thank-you Auntie for all the amazing things you do for our little princess and her family!  You are a blessing to us!  Can't wait to see you this weekend!

LeAnne's new Butterfly Kid's Foot Stool from Tatutina!  I won this cool stool through a blog contest at Mommy Living the Life of Riley.  This stool couldn't have come at a better time.  LeAnne is now able to wash her own hands after she goes potty and brush her teeth!  :-)

Speaking of going potty...LeAnne is doing awesome!  It's like the light went on overnight. Here she is using her potty chair in the back of our Ford Freestyle before an event this past Sunday. :-)
